The Arizona Caregiver Coalition provides a range of free classes designed to help family caregivers enhance their skills and plan for the future. These classes cover essential caregiving topics and are aimed at equipping caregivers with practical knowledge and tools.

First Aid & CPR Training for Caregivers

This class equips caregivers with essential life-saving skills, including basic first aid and CPR techniques, tailored specifically for caregivers. Caregivers will learn how to respond to emergencies, administer first aid, and perform CPR, ensuring they are prepared for unexpected situations while caring for their loved ones.

These quick and informative webinars teach caregivers how to plan for respite care and emergencies. The focus is on creating a plan for unexpected situations, understanding respite care options, and ensuring that caregivers and their care recipients are prepared for any disruptions in care.This class is not for professional caregivers; it is only for non-paid family caregivers.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers

Feeling stretched as a caregiver? You are not alone. The Arizona Caregiver Coalition offers Powerful Tools for Caregivers, a six-week educational series designed to equip family caregivers with the tools they need to care for themselves. This program helps caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate their feelings more effectively, balance their personal lives, make difficult decisions, and access valuable resources.The class meets once a week online for six sessions, offering a supportive and interactive environment. Please note that class size is limited, and pre-registration is required.

This class is specifically for non-paid family caregivers and is not intended for professional caregivers.

Safe Patient Handling Classes

In this class, caregivers will learn safe techniques for transferring and moving care recipients. The goal is to prevent injury to both the caregiver and the care recipient while assisting with daily mobility and personal care. In these 3 sessions, you will learn safe lifting, transferring techniques, and how to prevent injuries for both you and your loved one, as well as gain hands-on experience with proper equipment.
